"We really enjoyed our stay here. it was super cozy and memorable. Melanie and Don set us up with a crab trap to try our luck at a local dock. We also really enjoyed walking down to otter point and collecting some polished rocks."

"If hospitality, a unique space and location are what you are looking for then look no further. As a couple, we had a wonderful active vacation accessing places to hike and bike in the Sooke to Pt Renfrew area. Loved our time where we could crash into the comfort of our unique space following a busy day in the fresh ocean air of this location. Also what makes this place so very unique is Melanie and Don's hospitality and the possibility of specially crafted dinner experience. Thanks again Melanie & Don."

"Our family of 4 was delighted with the spacious accommodations and really can’t begin to describe the beauty of the area. The view is spectacular and you may be lucky enough to spot a whale or two (we did thanks to Melanie’s timely heads up!). Melanie and Don welcomed us to their lovely backyard space for a wood fired pizza evening. If you are a foodie who enjoys great conversation with interesting people, this is not to be missed. Thank you Melanie and Don for a memorable visit!"

"Our family just spent 4 wonderful days at Melanie and Don’s place in Sooke. The space is great for a family stay. Clean, well furnished and a fully equipped kitchen. Kids loved the beds in the loft with a view of the ocean. Melanie and Don were very helpful hosts with tips and suggestions on trails and places to see around Sooke and the rest of Vancouver Island. Sooke turned out to be well located for day trips to Victoria and other places to visit on Vancouver Island."

"This is a really nice spot and Melanie and Don are wonderful hosts. You are staying on their property right next to their house, so if you need anything they are right there and they offered to give us suggestions each day we were there.
We stayed there with 6 people and there is plenty of space for 6, but that does mean that 4 of us had to climb the ladder to the second floor. The second floor is a nice spot with views of the coast, paneled ceiling, comfy chairs great for reading, wood floors and a soft throw rug.
The property is beautiful on a sloped lot that faces out to the sea. You can walk 6 houses down to Otter Point which we did for sunset one night, but that is all that is within walking distance. Then Sooke is close by along with all the natural places in this area."

"This was a lovely place to stay for us. The view from the upstairs bedroom is beautiful and we enjoyed sitting there in the morning watching the boats out on the ocean. We also enjoyed one of Melanie's Closed Door Dining meals (halibut tacos) on the back patio, and it was delicious. Melanie and Don were wonderful hosts, full of recommendations for some of the best spots to visit, which was super helpful, since we only had a couple days. The space was clean and spacious for our family (two adults and one toddler) and worked out well. The murphy bed in the downstairs space was really comfortable and we slept quite well there. The kitchenette, while not a full kitchen, had all the essentials we needed - good coffee, microwave, fridge, and an induction stovetop for light cooking. The grounds of Melanie and Don's place are beautiful, with great outdoor spaces to relax. Thank you so much!"
